two firefighters using hoses to put out a house fireThe City of Kent Fire Department proudly provides fire and emergency medical services to approximately 30,000 full time residents and 28,000 Kent State students. The Kent Fire Department's service area covers approximately 24 square miles that includes the City of Kent, Franklin Township and Sugar Bush Knolls. 

The Kent Fire Department consists of 33 Full-Time Firefighter/Paramedics divided over three shifts, 2 Fire Prevention Lieutenants, 1 Fire Chief, 1 Fire Service Specialist, and 1 Part-Time Fire Inspector for Franklin Township.
